Junior Lifeguards

Junior Guards teaches Red Cross Guard Start program to children ages 10-14. The course covers basic lifeguarding skills, including victim recognition, entries and approaches, basic first aid, self-rescue, and pool safety. This course does not certify participants for CPR or lifeguard training. There are two levels for Junior Guards: 1st year students and 2nd year students. The pool is closed to other activities during this time.

Double Float Fridays

Youth can come to the Sports Center and enjoy floats in the pool and ice cream floats! A perfect way to end the school week. Open to all school age children. The pool is closed to other activities during this time.

Water Baseball

Water Baseball is played in the lap pool between two teams of swimmers using soft and safe bats and balls. All school age children are welcome to play. The pool is closed to other activities during this time.

Underwater Photography

Underwater Photography teaches swimmers the basic techniques of taking photos in the pool over a five week period. Students will learn to load and unload film, how to compose photos underwater, and how to use flash under water. At the end of the course, we will create a bulletin board of the photos that were taking during the class and displayed in the lobby area. Sign ups take place in the Pool Office; the pool is closed to other activities during this time.
