2020 Race the Lake Marathon & Half-Marathon Cancelled

Race Date

Our 7th annual race will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021. The race starts at 8:00am.

Sadly, with the spread of COVID-19 and the efforts to stop its spread, the 2020 Race the Lake Marathon, 1/2 Marathon and 5K has been cancelled. Cancelling this event is incredibly disappointing for everyone involved, but in order for us to continue to prioritize the health and safety of everyone involved, it was clearly the course we needed to follow.
We will be reaching out to all the registered runners with more information regarding the cancellation resolution details, including the option to receive a full refund for their entry fee, a guaranteed one time complimentary registration into the 2021 race or donate their registration fee to continue to support events like these and help keep the Clark Sports Center mission running through this unprecedented challenge.

The 2021 Race the Lake Marathon, 1/2 Marathon and 5K is all set to take place on June 5, 2021.

In what has been a continually evolving and challenging time globally, we recognize that this may come as a disappointment but look forward to providing the community with exceptional events in the future and look forward to seeing everyone in 2021.

We hope that you stay safe and healthy as our world faces this most difficult challenge.

The Race will circle clockwise around the picturesque Otsego Lake. Runners will travel through Cooperstown, Springfield, Middlefield and the Town of Otsego. You will have views of the lake almost all the way as you pass Glimmerglass Opera, The Farmers Museum, The Otesaga Resort Hotel and several other landmarks. Both of the races will be challenging, not only for the mileage, but also the elevation changes. It’s the perfect setting for a marathon!
