Race Date
Our 8th annual race will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023. The race starts at 10:00am. Day of race check-in and registration will take place from 8:30–9:30am at the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce (31 Chestnut Street, Cooperstown NY 13326)..
About the Race
The Clark Sports Center is partnering with the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce to host the “Rockin Around Cooperstown Ugly Sweater Run and Walk” on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Helios Care. The event will encourage runners and walkers to venture through historic Cooperstown in their ugliest holiday sweaters and encourage patrons to shop and eat local, while visiting Santa’s home.
Upon completion of the race, participants will receive either a free coffee/hot chocolate courtesy of Stagecoach Coffee or a free beer from Brewery Ommegang (coupon valid until 5:00pm on December 2). Cooley’s Stone House Tavern will be the location for the Ommegang beer.
The event will showcase Cooperstown’s beautiful Main Street and provide an opportunity for restaurants and retailers to showcase their businesses to the crowd of locals and visiting attendees. We encourage residents and visitors to visit the Cooperstown Farmer’s Market beginning at 9:00am before heading to this event.
Race Location
The race will begin at Santa’s House in Pioneer Park at approximately 10:00am with Santa himself giving opening remarks.

Race registration for pre-registered runners and those who wish to register will take place 8:30–9:30am at the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce (31 Chestnut Street, Cooperstown NY 13326).
Race Waiver Form
All runners must have a Clark Sports Center waiver form on file. Children 18 and under must have this waiver signed by a parent. Waivers will be available on at the race or can be downloaded and printed from our site.
Race Awards
Prizes will be given out for the Ugliest Sweater, the Ugliest Team Sweaters, and based on participants finish in the race.
Winners will be announced and awards will be distributed at the conclusion of the race, tentatively around 11:30am, in Lakefront Park.

- The race is a rain, snow or shine event
- Dress Warm and in your ugliest sweaters!
- Please bring ID
- Parking available at Doubleday Field, Clark Sports Center, or the Trolley Red Lot
- Coffee, Hot Chocolate, and Beer to follow!
- The race is timed, but is currently not a USATF sanctioned event
- A water stop will be placed near the half way mark and at the end
- Please note that traffic will be allowed on all streets. Major intersections will be staffed.
