We’re looking for a reliable, detail‑oriented individual to join our team as a Part‑Time Special Events Timer. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in fast‑paced environments, is comfortable with technology, has strong communication skills, and likes contributing to smooth, successful events.
Responsibilities
- Operate timing equipment for races, competitions, and community events
- Set up and break down timing systems and related gear
- Record accurate start, split, and finish times
- Assist event coordinators with logistics as needed
- Ensure data is captured, saved, and transferred correctly
- Provide clear communication with participants and staff
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Comfortable with basic technology and learning new equipment
- Excellent time management and punctuality
- Weekend availability (most events occur Saturdays/Sundays)
- Ability to lift and carry equipment (20–30 lbs)
Preferred (but not required)
- Experience in race timing, event operations, or technical roles
- Familiarity with running, cycling, or multi-sport events
Hours & Pay
- Part‑time, mostly weekends, weekday availability to train on the timing systems
- Hours vary by event schedule, usually 2-6 hours
- $16.50/hour
